This morning didn't go as planned for Kimi Raikkonen, Alfa Romeo driver, who finished his first Free Practice session after just 26 minutes.

The Finn crashed at Parabolica, causing the first of three Red Flag during FP1. Wasn't a big loss, as the track presented mixed conditions because of the rain. The number 7 driver ended his session earlier with no time set.

In the afternoon, everthing went almost as planned, with Kimi scoring the 14th fastest time. The rain was present in the afternoon too, but it was so slight that no one wore Intern tyres.

The wet track didn't give the chance, to anyone, to really show and find the true potential of the cars, everything will be unveiled tomorrow.

"Not a great start with my crash in FP1 but to be honest we didn’t really lose precious time as the mixed conditions continued and therefore no one could do any proper work. Same story in the afternoon, so even if the car felt good and we put in some good lap times we have to wait until tomorrow to see where exactly we are.” Said a pragmatic Raikkonen right after FP2.

It’s the home race for us also, hopefully we can have a speed similar to the last race and at least we can be in the fight. We’ll see how the weather plays out.”

The Finn, as he said yesterday, is sure his C38 can do good on a track like Monza, similar to Spa, as he said yesterday.

"It’s the home race for us also, hopefully we can have a speed similar to the last race and at least we can be in the fight. We’ll see how the weather plays out.”

Everything will be determined by weather: rain is not expected tomorrow, but anything can happen in the Temple of Speed.
