FP1 and FP2 were carried out yesterday. As it was predicted, both Mercedes were on top of the table while Ferrari and Red Bull were having similar pace. Alfa Romeo were a little bit further back. During FP1, Giovinazzi had a mechanical problem and he finished on P20. Kimi was P12 with a best lap time of 1:31.307 and 27 laps under his belt. On FP2, Kimi achieved to finish P11 with a lap time of 1:29.477 and 29 laps completed.

“It was a fairly straightforward Friday for me. We did a bit more running than we originally planned to make up for the lack of FP3 tomorrow, but in the end, the change of plans did not affect us much.” Commented the Finn driver.

“We’re just outside the top ten and the gaps are very small. We will try to find some more performance with the engineers, as you can always make some progress after practice, but it’s impossible to say where we’ll be come qualifying. We’ll just wait and see what happens on Sunday”. Expressed Kimi.

As he said, the gaps are very small so anything can happen, you can make a good lap but if the car isn’t on the point, it won’t do any good.
