Ineos is going to sponsor Mercedes

The British chemical company plans to become a new sponsor of the Mercedes team.

According to the Financial Times, Mercedes will soon make a deal with a company owned by one of the richest people in the UK Jim Ratcliffe. 

Probably the deal to be announced within a few weeks. It is planned INEOS logos will appear on Mercedes cars for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix 2020. The contract with Ineos will bring Mercedes about 20 million pounds a year.

Ineos owns oil refineries and oil and gas fields in the North sea, and plans to start production of  utility vehicle inspired by the Land Rover Defender.

Recent years Ineos has also invested heavily in sports. Last year it acquired the French Football club OGC Nice. The company also owns the Swiss Football club Lausanne Sports FC and the British road Cycling team Team Sky (now Team Ineos).
