The second session of the Tuscan Grand Prix FP confirms what we have seen during the whole Championship.
Mercedes just came back at the top of the podium with both of its drivers, with the only news in the order. The leader of this session is indeed Valtteri Bottas, followed by Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Such a result may be useful to hint some confidence to the Finn, as he raced quite poorly last Sunday, leading a race in which he could have done very much better than his final result, even if he claimed some technichal issues on his W11.
Red Bull came back stronger and placed once again Max Verstappen at Mercedes’ heels, classifying the young Dutch as the only rival of the Silver Arrow.
Alex Albon fought very hard to conquer the immediately after available place, a quite good fourth position on the grid, driving without any mistakes the other RB16. The Thai is really doing his best to show Helmut Marko that he has not done yet and he could have much still to give to the A team. The fifth and sixth place are marked by the two single-seaters of “La Regie” team. Indeed they have been occupied by the two Renault, with Daniel Ricciardo ahead of Esteban Ocon. After the last race everything seems impossible and Renault seems to have a chance to get a wonderful performance.
Sergio Perez finished his last FP2 session in the pink suit in seventh position, immediately followed by the Monza Grand Prix winner Pierre Gasly. Kimi Raikkonen and Charles Leclerc took the last two places in the top ten . Once again Sebastian Vettel had to face some technical problems, with his SF1000 that had to be stopped just a few minutes before the end of the session.
