Sebastian Vettel, who recently announced his move to Aston Martin in 2021, had a difficult time during FP1 and FP2 in the Tuscan GP. The German driver showed a poor performance in both the sessions and stopped at the end of the second practice because of an electrical fault.
The four-time Formula 1 World Champion underlined that he is enjoying driving in Mugello. Nevertheless, Vettel pointed out that the car has not a good balance so far.
"It was an interesting day. Mugello is a very nice track which is very enjoyable for the driver, even if it is quite brutal on tyres. I’m still not happy with the balance of the car.”
Indeed, the German Driver ended up 13th in the first session during his qualifying mode run. The situation did not change significantly in FP2, with Vettel finishing 12th.
Despite, Vettel hopes that small adjustments can improve the SF1000’s set-up.
“We are working on it and there’s still plenty to do, but it is Friday, and this is what Fridays are for. I think that there’s the potential to find a better set-up on the car and that we will find some small things.
“I’m confident we can improve it for qualifying."
