The winter break resulted to bring some news concerning the new season of F1, which will start at the end of March in Bahrain. First of all, this 2021 will double 2020 in not starting the season in Australia, as the date was moved to Coronavirus.

The 2021 season will be born in Bahrain and there are some news concerning the timetable. No more chasing the minutes from now on, as the organizers put back the start of the racing at the top of the hour, so Grands Prix will start at the “o’ clock”, precise time, which will be at 3.00 p.m. for many European countries and 2 o’clock p.m. for British fans.

Another change focuses on free practices. While nothing changes for the last session, scheduled on Saturday just before Qualifying, the first two free practices that are held on Friday will be reduced.

FP1 and FP2 will pass from 90 minutes to 60, an hour for each session, just like the third had always been.

A welcome move and one that I hope eliminates the often long periods of track inactivity. It shouldn't result in less laps completed.”- Sky commentator David Croft stated.

The time cut will of free practices will indeed reverse on the drivers. Having less laps available, they will be under pressure, more than usual, in all the free practices, without having the time to adapt and focus on the car, understanding what work needs to be done on their single seaters and they will not actually “feel” the circuit.

The new F1 will start at the precise hour, just like the good, old times on March 28th, in Bahrain. The starting time will be 4 p.m. (United Kindom time) and there will be a 23-races round to wait for, even if China remains unconfirmed.
