Red Bull presented its single-seater competitor for this year’s Formula 1 season.

McLaren, Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo, and now Red Bull. The F1 teams are still tuning the final details to go into the upcoming 2021 season. However, today the Milton Keynes-based team launched the new car to compete for the drivers and constructors championship of the category, the new RB16B together with the driver line-up, Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez.

Since Daniel Ricciardo left the team in 2018, two Alpha Tauri drivers had been promoted to the Red Bull team to try and form the perfect pair with Max Verstappen, but it resulted in just failure, with Pierre Gasly being demoted with the season just half-way into the year, and finally, Alexander Albon finishing 7th in his whole season with the team among the driver’s standings, while his Dutchman teammate finished 3rd and almost 110 points up-front.

Meanwhile, Sergio completed his best performance during 10 years of his career in the pinnacle of motorsport just the last season, being the best out of the two dominant teams and finishing 4th on the driver’s championship. Perhaps a good-enough year to secure his seat in this year’s Red Bull.

This year, team-principal Christian Horner altogether with the high-commands of the team has put the faith out of their drivers academy and into the Mexican to complement Verstappen in a way that will allow the team to be closer to Mercedes, fighting with both cars up-front on the grid.

The livery for this year's RB16B, based on 2020's RB16, is the classic navy blue with shades in yellow and the red bull.

The Red Bull challenger will be fueled by a Honda engine as this year marks the last year of the partnership between the team and the Japanese factory with a notable history in the sport. Red Bull has announced that from 2022 onwards, the team will be its own manufacturer making its own engines.

Checo and Max will also have the opportunity to test on-track the new RB16B on the first filming day for the team, tomorrow.
