The 2021 car by Haas will be named VF-21 and it will face a tough task: survive 2021 and bring home great performances, to level-up a disastrous 2020 season. Haas did collect only three points in the whole season and ended the season only at the ninth stand in the Constructors’ Championship so it will be eager to bounce back to greater places.
The team faced several issues during the last seasons, both in the financial and sport side, and to say it clearly, it already improved a lot. It’s time to take the next step. It will be on two young and unexperienced drivers to do it, Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, both at their first year in the major Formula. The drivers’ line-up won’t be the only brand new thing that will come out this year. Steiner reveals that the team worked non-stop during the winter break to make up a great car, even with the severe frozen improvements imposed by the FIA.
“For sure the car needs to be better, because there is actually quite a big change in the aero rules for next year- Haas team principal Gunther Steiner reveals to Motosport.com - don’t really know where that is going and how much the other [teams] have developed. It will be a tough year anyway next year, but I see it as a transition and we can live with that. We need to survive it and focus on 2022.”
Given all the Regulations changes that will enter the sport in 2022, a transition is just what Haas needs.
