The rain which fell overnight hasn’t changed too much the track of the Red Bull Ring’s first event out of two, the Styrian Grand Prix. The last Free Practice Session has been conquered by Lewis Hamilton. The Britishman got the first place topping his rival to the title Max Verstappen, signing a very quick time. Valtteri Bottas made it to the third place ahead of Red Bull’s second drive Sergio Perez, who obtained a satisfying fourth position on the grid. However, if this order will be repeated in the Qualifying, the Mexican can aim to start third, due to the Finn’s penalization. Valtteri Bottas will suffer from a three positions grid drop, after that he was considered to have made a “dangerous driving pit lane spin” during FP2.

AlphaTauri was the “best of the rest” with a consistent performance by Yuki Tsunoda, who ended the session fifth, and Pierre Gasly who scored a sixth position. Charles Leclerc on his Ferrari finishes his practices only in seventh position, followed by Fernando Alonso on his Alpine.

Aston Martin Racing proves that the team is still strong as it was under Racing Point’s name, with Lance Stroll placing ninth and Sebastian Vettel gets tenth on the grid.

For what it concerns the second Ferrari, Carlos Sainz could end the session only 13rd. And what about McLaren, which could be favorited on this track? Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris had a tough time on their car, with the Australian only seventeenth and the young Briton had to be content with a nineteenth position.

Now it is time for Qualifying: lights off and let’s see who will conquer the Styrian Grand Prix’s pole.
