MotorLat had access to a brief online meeting with Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner where he shared his thoughts on the new Sprint race and the incident between his drivers ahead of the British Gp.
About the incident between the drivers, Steiner explained that it was part of an unfortunate racing incident. He later added that the damages were not big in Nikita´s car but they have an impact on the tyre temperature and Mick´s car had damage on the floor “it´s not a major damage but every little point of downforce helps us, it doesn´t make the car any faster if you´ve got damage.” He explained there will be some work on the cars for tomorrow´s race to get them in the best possible shape.
On the Sprint Qualifying event, Steiner said “I don´t dislike it for us it´s difficult because we are where we are but if you fight for something it´s exciting… right after the event I´m pretty positive up to now. Let´s see what the fans say”
By the time of the interview Nikita was with the stewards about not following the right starting procedure in FP2, he explained it was a misunderstanding on the procedure and nothing intentional. Steiner said “I hope we´ll get a warning.”
