It was a positive day for Mick Schumacher. The rookie was P17, almost 4 seconds ahead of his teammate Nikita Mazepin and took advantage of a complicated session for Alfa placing himself ahead of Giovinazzi and very close to Kimi Raikkonen. MotorLat had access to an online meeting with Schumacher where he shared his view on today´s activity.

When asked about his expectations for tomorrow, the driver explained: “It depends on the conditions. In dry we are probably a bit adrift to the others. In wet conditions things are a bit more difficult and hopefully we´ll be able to fight. If it´s dry, we´ll have to do our race and do the best we can.”

Today Schumacher was closer to Alfa Romeo drivers, when asked whether it was due to the wet condition or to a super lap, the driver explained “It´s always difficult to judge, Alfa, especially Antonio, have had some issues…I don´t know, obviously we´re closer. I like those conditions. I like the rain so maybe that just gives me the opportunity to extract more of our car.”

On the setup of his car, Mick added “knowing that the conditions, probably, are going to be dry tomorrow, we kept the setup as always. The only change I´d do is add more downforce. I think we are pretty flexible in each way if it´s dry or wet. It gives us the biggest possibilities for tomorrow.”

When asked by MotorLat about what kind of race would make him happy tomorrow the German said: “Happy would be if I get points. If we maximize our potential tomorrow and nothing really happens in front I imagine us being in the same position as always. We know our car is not the strongest right now but we can still try our best and prepare for next year. I think that´s what we´ve been doing in the past we´ve had some interesting races such as Budapest even Baku where there´s lot of things happening.  I think here, as we´ve seen in F2 there are few things that can happen so, we just have to wait and see.”
