The last time we saw them, Mercedes’ leader Toto Wolff and Red Bull’s one Christian Horner were very tense. The Abu Dhabi GP ended in a controversial way, with a “suspect” restart putting Max Verstappen in the position to go and win his first world title over Lewis Hamilton. The whole situation turned up with Mercedes deciding to not taking part at the final Gala and they did not take there their car either.

However, two months have passed and a newly elected FIA president is there, Ben Sulayem. The man chaired a F1 meeting in which the two were there and he said that the situation between them was calm, as they both were in line on the discussion concerning the new setting of the season and the Abu Dhabi GP.

"They were in line. I think it's because of Valentine's Day,”- joked Ben Sulayem.

"They were close to each other and they were in a good mood, so that was good, - he continued – I expected more entertainment but it was good to see the harmony between them."

On Monday, the F1 Commission, consisting F1, the teams and the FIA, met on a four hours discussion about several topics. The main one was of course Abu Dhabi, but the procedures are still on hold. The meeting seemed to have been productive, though, as Sulayem stated he wants to make “structural changes” and a new “action plan” is about to be released in short time.

"We agreed on certain things and the analysis is still going on. But it will come soon... it was a good discussion there. So we will see."- the FIA president added.

“Information will be announced, but definitely as I said, the integrity of the FIA will always be intact, - Sulayem announced - I am elected to do that but also have fair motorsport, as that's my duty. So it was a very good meeting. We can only go forward. This is important for the FIA, for the integrity of the FIA and for the sport. So we can only improve the future."
