Last season was one of the most heated in recent years, with a rivalry that we hope to find again, expanded, also in this upcoming 2022 season.

The battle for the world title that ended in favor of Red Bull and Max Verstappen, on the last lap of the last race of the championship, will be deepened by several shows, including a new Original Sky production.

Season 4 of Netflix's Drive to Survive will be released on March 11 and will certainly cover some of the events, even if Max Verstappen expressly declined to take part in it, because as he said “they have artfully created some rivalries that don't really exist”.

Duel: Hamilton vs Verstappen, distributed by Sky, promises to offer a report of the rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen, with insights from those who experienced the two champions personally.

The two-part series will outline the events of the 2021 F1 season which saw Verstappen snatching the world title from Lewis Hamilton at the last second of a breathtaking season, with exclusive interviews from Max Verstappen,  Red Bull and Mercedes Team Principals, Christian Horner and Toto Wolff, and other people of the Circus.

Wolff made extraordinary comments on the episode that decided the race and the Championship, referring to the "wrong decisions" made by race director Masi.

He talked about Masi and Wheatley's relationship as a "bromance" and added that "Jonathan Wheatley has done his job.

"He's turned Michael Masi the race director, not only in Abu Dhabi but before [alluding to the deal made in Saudi Arabia], and probably Max owes him a lot.

"I haven't spoken to him and I don't want to speak to him ever again.

"His decisions were wrong and I'm sure that he regrets them.

“The FIA should have seen much earlier that there was a problem. There was a problem with the structure. There was a problem of personalities."

He added: "I feel for Max, He merits the world championship... but there's only talk about Abu Dhabi."

Verstappen opened up on his carreer and racing style, saying that sometimes as a driver you need to take some risks:

"Sometimes I have to take risks and try to dive up the inside or try to force a move, but, at the end of the day, that's my style and that's how I've won more races than I've lost."

Horner insisted that Masi’s direction wasn’t bad at all, that he didn’t break any rule:

"He didn't break the rules.

"He perhaps applied the rules slightly differently in that circumstance but there was nothing he did that actually contravened the rules."

Duel: Hamilton vs Verstappen’s two episodes won’t surely be boring at all.

The first episode will showcase on Sunday 6 March at 7pm (UK time) on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports F1 and will also be available On Demand, Sky Showcase and Sky Documentaries.
