Firstly, it was an hearthbreaking Q1 for Moto3 riders, with almost everyone who was searching for a slipstream going really slow for the most of the session. Only rider trying to do good laps in first minutes was Kevin Zannoni alongside Can Oncu, while the rest created a giant group.

At the end, every rider was then able to improve his own lap time only at the last attempt with Raul Fernandez being the fastest rider on track in 1.57.792, followed by Marcos Ramirez and Darryn Binder. Last rider able to get the spot for Q2 was Andrea Migno, last rider who crossed the finish line.

Many lap cancelled due to exceeding track limits which changed the standings repeatedly in a crazy first qualifying.

It was then the decisive moment in which Tatsuki Suzuki and Niccolò Antonelli did a massive mistake going out when the lights were still red and marshal was waving the red flag. Sic58 Squadra Corse duo could be seriously penalized then.

Tony Arbolino was then amazing on getting the pole position after a first run where he had a lap cancelled due to exceeding track limits, but in the second one he went out and litteraly destroying pole record lap at Mugello ahead of Gabriel Rodrigo and Lorenzo Dalla Porta.

Andrea Migno after being just the last rider on getting the spot for the last qualifying is 4th and opening the second row, followed by Tatsuki Suzuki and Niccolò Antonelli for the moment. Fenati is 7th, with Kaito Toba and Marcos Ramirez 8th and 9th. Top 10 for the championship leader, Aron Canet, who suffered a little problem in the early stages of the session but he was still able to go on track and doing a lap time.
