Fabio Quartararo shines again in Assen and takes another pole position! French rookie will start tomorrow ahead of everyone alongside Maverick Vinales and Alex Rins, who had to pass through Q1.
First session of qualifying saw indeed Alex Rins going forward into Q2 thanks to a great lap that projected him on top of the table. The Spaniard from Suzuki was the favorite guy in Q1 and everyone expected a good performance for him and so he did, being the fastest rider.
Not the best session for Valentino Rossi, who struggled a lot in his first run not being able to put his bike in top 2 to get the direct access to the last session of qualifying and same story happened in his last run; nine time world champion was not able to get the access to Q2.
Second spot was taken so by Pol Espargaro, who snatched that place from Francesco Bagnaia’s hands just in the last seconds.
Alex Rins then took benefit from Q1 and had immediately a good rhythm to make a fast lap that projected him on a provisional pole position. The Spaniard seemed to be fine with his crono but Fabio Quartararo surprised all another time with a stunning lap conquering the pole position! French rookie will start again in front of everyone with Maverick Vinales behind and Alex Rins closing the first row.
Nothing to do today for Marc Marquez who has to start from 4th position saving also a crash in his second run; reigning World Champion is followed by a good Joan Mir and Cal Crutchlow. Not the best session for Ducatis, with Danilo Petrucci finished in 7th and Andrea Dovizioso 11th, while Jack Miller is 10th.
