Bad news for Jorge Lorenzo and Honda HRC as long as the Spaniard still did not fully recover from the injury suffered at Assen during the free practice in which he had the fracture of T6 and T8 vertebrae. Five time World Champion worked hard during the Summer break to come back on track as soon as possible but pain is still high on him, forcing him to miss Brno and Spielberg with Stefan Bradl replacing him as happened at Sachsenring.
Decision has been taken by Jorge and Honda together, with Japanese Team who released a statement about that: “Jorge Lorenzo decided to keep focus on his recovery and will come back for British GP on 25th August. Best thing for Lorenzo is to miss Czech GP and Austrian one to continue his recovery avoiding any other risks”.
A tough season that he is going even worse for Lorenzo, who did not start the Championship in the way he wanted as long as he struggled a lot to fight even for top 10 and crashed in Barcelona, involving also Maverick Vinales, Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi, where he seemed to be competitive. Return has been fixed for Silverstone and in that GP we could see if his conditions will be optimal to race.
