Marc Marquez has serious ambition about this weekend in Silverstone and in the second session of free practice is the fastest rider on track putting his Honda ahead of everyone and on top of the table. Reigning World Champion has been able to ride in 1.59.476 making again an impressive rhythm, showing that he is ready for the race yet.
First rider to follow him is Maverick Vinales, almost three tenths of a second far from the top but again fast and consistent, with Yamaha rider who is followed by Cal Crutchlow, with the Briton who is the last rider able to go under the 2 minutes. Also Fabio Quartararo and Valentino Rossi were good enough to smash that threshold, but both exceeded track limits at turn 6 with their lap time cancelled; the French ended in 11th but still on top 10 combined, while the Italian could not go over 17th position.
5th is Franco Morbidelli ahead of a surprising and really fast Miguel Oliveira, who confirms the great pace showed during the last GP; Jack Miller follows them with the Australian who puts his bike in front of Danilo Petrucci. Last two riders who close FP2 top ten are Espargaro brothers, with Aleix faster than Pol; KTM rider has been able to end in 10th FP2 but he is still not fast enough to conquer a direct access to Q2.
Anyway, after a review from the masrhals, Fabio Quartararo, Valentino Rossi and Takaaki Nakagami's lap times were readmitted with the French who is then the leader of the session and fastest guy overall, while Rossi took 4th time on time sheet being able to put himself on top 10 for the moment.
