At the end of the day, Maverick Vinales could be satisfied overall with the result he had in Silverstone as long as the Spaniard was able to finish on the podium with a great race where he outperformed his teammate Valentino Rossi and was even close to fight against Marc Marquez and Alex Rins, but the lack of top speed was crucial for him.
Anyway, it was a good podium for Maverick: “Overall it is a good result for us, we got a podium and we were fast during the weekend. I gave everything to get Rins’ slipstream but our bike lacks top speed and I was not able to make a move on both of them, but we can be satisfied”
A positive weekend for him and Yamaha who get a second consecutive podium after the one scored with Quartararo in Austria: “We made a chance on the setup that let us perform better, especially on tyre management. We could not push full speed in the first part of the race but it paid off because I was stronger in the last part especially on the front”
Vinales believes that today expressed the maximum: "I am happy because we expressed the maximum we could from this race and bike during this race and the whole weekend"
