It is a fantastic last part of the season for Luca Marini, who seems to have finally found the confidence he needed to be fast in every circuit and compete for podiums and wins every single weekend! The Italian gets his second win in a row after being successful in Buriram just two weeks ago where he dominated winning alone. This time it was not a solitary win, because Marini had to face a strong Thomas Luthi who gave everything to snatch that first position.

Sky Racing Team had the better start from pole position, with Luca who led from the first lap on compatriot Lorenzo Baldassarri, who had a good beginning from first row, while Augusto Fernandez started to fight against Alex Marquez, Thomas Luthi and Marcel Schrotter. It was not the easiest race for Championship Leader who risked to crash many times during the race, but at the end managed to get a good 6th position overall, surely a positive result for the Championship.

Marini and Baldassarri seemed to have the pace to run away from rivals, but Thomas Luthi showed a stunning race pace which let him catch the two Italians and taking the lead in the middle of the race, while Lorenzo Baldassarri started to lose grip, confidence and time from the Swiss and Marini. Sky Racing Team rider pushed over the limits to stay with Dyvanolt Intact guy and was able to do it, finishing on fighting until last lap for the victory, with Luca who made the decisive move with two laps remaining to win Japanese GP.

Meanwhile, Jorge Martin did the same thanks to a stunning comeback and managed to fight for last podium position being able to snatch it from Baldassarri’s hands; a fantastic day for 2018 Moto3 World Champion who finally got his first podium in Moto2 after a really tough season. Jorge Navarro took 5th place ahead of Marquez, while Enea Bastianini overtook Augusto Fernandez at the last lap for 7th position. 9th place for Marcel Schrotter ahead of Stefano Manzi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, followed by Brad Binder and Chantra. Last points positions were taken by Dominique Aegerter and Andrea Locatelli
