It seemed quite obvious after the postponement and the rumors about the provisional Calendar even if every MotoGP fans crossed his fingers, but at the end it was inevitable: Mugello has been ruled out of 2020 MotoGP calendar. This is the first time since 1991 that Mugello will not host MotoGP, even though organizers are already working hard on 2021 event.

That means Misano will be the only Italian track to host the circus this season as should have two races in the provisional Calendar which will be released probably tomorrow. Mugello and Dorna tried until the end to save the event but it was not possible due to pandemic Coronavirus.

Paolo Poli, Mugello Circuit CEO, is of course really sad: “Despite the hard work done, we cannot host the Grand Prix with public. Over that, we were not able to find another date due to the emergency. We would like to thank the whole fan for the support showed in the past months, we cannot wait to back on track next season”

Carmelo Ezpeleta is sad as well: “We are really sorry to announce that Mugello will not take part of 2020 MotoGP Calendar. It is a major loss, Mugello is one of the best track in the world. We would like to thank everyone for the comprehension. It would be a memorable Grand Prix next season, sure!”
