MotoGP is finally back. Today we had the first sessions of free practice, where we did not see too much surprises. Marc Marquez was indeed the fastest guy overall in combined times as he made a really good job in the morning. In the afternoon times were much slower not giving any chance to MotoGP riders to improve their times.

The Spaniard from Honda is followed by a fast Maverick Vinales who showed how quick he is at Jerez as shown during the tests on Wednesday. In 3rd there is Cal Crutchlow ahead of Andrea Dovizioso; the Italian made a superb recovery after a broken collarbone just two weeks ago and will fight to reach the top positions during the weekend.

Joan Mir and Jack Miller are 5th and 6th showing good pace, while Alex Rins is 7th followed by a KTM trio. It is Pol Espargaro in 8th and Iker Lecuona in 9th, with Brad Binder ending top 10. An impressive job made by the Austrian manufacturer, which showed to be fast also in the afternoon during FP2 where Brad Binder finished 3rd and Pol Espargaro 5th.

Petronas Yamaha Duo is out of Q2 at the moment; Franco Morbidelli was fastest in FP2 followed by his teammate Fabio Quartararo, but both were not able to record a good lap time in FP1 and will be forced to make a fast crono tomorrow in the last session of free practice to avoid Q1. The French had to stay in his box for 20’ due to a penalty committed for having tested with an irregular bike in June.

Valentino Rossi and Francesco Bagnaia will have to find a spot in top 10 too tomorrow to avoid the first session of qualifying; the Italian from Yamaha struggled a lot in the afternoon where he ended just 20th, while Bagnaia was a bit faster as he finished in 10th.
