Takaaki Nakagami took his first ever pole position in MotoGP at the Alcaniz Grand Prix in Motorland Aragon with a 1:46.882.
Franco Morbidelli and Alex Rins complete the front row for the start of tomorrow’s race.
Just like last weekend, all Ducati bikes were in Q1 - fighting for the top two positions in the sessions along with the factory KTM bikes. Jack Miller had set the benchmark halfway through the session and put in a quick lap for everyone to beat.
Despite Ducati’s best efforts to get their championship contender Andrea Dovizioso through to Q2 it was Pol Espargaro and Johann Zarco who took the top two positions.
In Q2, Nakagami continued his lightning pace throughout the weekend so far and set the marker for the rest to catch.
Nobody could beat his time as the Japanese rider went even quicker on his LCR Honda machine to take pole position ahead of Morbidelli in second and Rins completing the front row for the race.
Maverick Vinales qualified in fourth place, Zarco took fifth place despite crashing on his final flying lap and Fabio Quartararo qualified in sixth place.
Cal Crutchlow will start the race in seventh place, Miguel Oliveira in eighth and Pol Espargaro in ninth.
Alex Marquez qualified in 10th place, Iker Lecuona in 11th and championship leader Joan Mir qualified in 12th place - he will start on the fourth row of the grid tomorrow.
Aleix Espargaro will start the race in 13th place, Miller alongside him in 14th and Brad Binder in 15th.
Stefan Bradl qualified 16th on the Repsol Honda, Dovizioso who is sitting fourth in the championship will start 17th and Pecco Bagnaia 18th.
Danilo Petrucci qualified in 19th place, Tito Rabat in 20th and Bradley Smith rounded out the grid.
The race tomorrow will start at 13:00 (GMT+2) local time.
